Depraved Nature Aka Kolasmenh Fysi stars Errikos Briolas as Alex, a painter from Athens who decides to retreat to a remote village in order to get inspired for his work.
While there he gets involved with the village’s ‘curse’, a young woman who lives alone in the woods, bastard offspring of an one night stand with a stranger.
Xenophobia is running rampant in the village, but now Alex is also forced to counter their paranoid rage over his affair with the ‘untouched’ Maria.
On top of that, there’s Yuras (Nikos Tsahiridis), the deranged shepherd who always had a soft spot for the cursed Maria.
Despite its juicy title, the movie is a rather mild affair with a bizarrely anti-climactic ending.
You may enjoy the scenery, as the movie offers endless padding time accompanied by either ominous or ‘sexy’ 70’s music.
Nikos Tsahiridis is the real scene stealer though, completely over the top as the sex-crazed shepherd, plus he also provides some hilarious fight sequences.
Image quality is average, the sound is occasionally choppy like an old vinyl.
